Self Care

Self Care

With all the chaos going on in the world, we may sometimes forget who and what to prioritize. Whether it’s your significant other, your kids, or your job, putting yourself first sometimes gets put last. At the end of the day, you cannot take care of others when you do not take care of yourself. The No Days Off attitude implies that you take No Days OFF on you.

Mental Health

How do you take No Days OFF on you? When you begin to re-prioritize who and what matters most in life, you begin to let go of things or people that don’t benefit you as much as you thought they did. Being aware of these things is the meaning of self-care.

Physical Health

Unwinding and letting go of those everyday stresses is yet another priority. At the end of the day, what truly matters is going to bed with a positive mind. What did you do to make today for you?

Working out

Adding a work-out to your daily schedule is extremely beneficial for the mind and body. Whether it’s a walk in the park or a bootcamp class at Legacy, getting your heart rate up for half an hour minimum is a good way to get the blood flowing.

Reading a book

Reading a book is yet another great way to unwind. Diving into another world one page at a time allows your mind to take a break from reality. Your mind will get sharper and your heart will feel happier.

Cooking a homemade meal

Although eating in itself is already an activity to unwind to, cooking a meal from scratch is the ultimate way to come down from your day. Shopping for ingredients, preparing your materials, and following instructions, are all amazing ways to relieve your mind from any outside pressures. Plus, at the end of it all, you get to eat!

Taking a bath

At the end of a long day, there is nothing better than taking a steaming hot bath. Forget your phone and bring in a book with you, let yourself focus on the present. Add epsom salts for added relaxation.

Going outside take a deep breath

If you can’t seem to find the time to do any of the above, remember that taking the time for you does not require much. Sometimes taking a step outside and taking a few, deep breaths is really all you need. Remind yourself to never take a day off on you, no matter what that may mean to you.

Overall

Taking No Days Off on you should become your main priority in life. You are most important - and YOU can’t take care of others when you aren’t taking care of yourself. When you take No Days Off on you, helping others will feel better. You may not have it all together, but when you prioritize yourself, you are getting pretty close.
